Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao, Spain, Very-High Resolution Imagery

Here you can discover the like never before thanks to images captured by the Pléiades Neo satellite. This contemporary art museum opened its doors in 1997 and was designed by the famous architect Frank Gehry, who also designed the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. The building's curved, titanium-clad forms revolutionised architecture. 

Our imagery reveals the museum’s geometric shapes, and shiny,  reflective panels in stunning detail. The undulating structures and irregular courses are clearly visible. The lawn has been specially decorated for the summer in a colorful circular shape, next to it is the spider sculpture “mama” by Louise Bourgeois. Near the museum entrance, in the tourist square, stands is the work “Puppy” by Jeff Koons; a giant dog covered in flowers.

The museum is bordered by the Nervion River, with adjacent bridges and quays. The buildings and streets of Bilbao around the museum visible with different squares and promenades.
