This high-resolution satellite image of the Starbase Space X site in Boca China, Texas, USA showcases a striking example of the capabilities of our state-of-the-art Pléiades Neo 30cm imagery. Often referred to as the “South Texas Launch Site”, StarBase is primarily used for the development and testing of SpaceX's Starship rockets. Comprising a spaceport, a production facility, and a testing site, StarBase is integral to SpaceX’s core mission of deep space exploration.

Taken on 05/05/2022 by the Airbus Pléiades Neo satellites, the high-definition image resolution allows the viewer to zoom in to see the entire StarBase facility and its surroundings in detail. The main launch site itself is visible to the left of the main testing area closer to the water’s edge. In the near bottom right of the image, viewers can easily see StarBase’s large-scale manufacturing areas, testing sites, hangars, and the adjoining offices and housing complexes. Roads, utility lines, storage tanks, and other support infrastructure can be seen. The edge of the Gulf of Mexico and the terrain of the landscape and vegetation around StarBase are also precisely depicted.

The impressive resolution enables a high level of clarity making it possible to identify minute details in the image.

The Airbus Pléiades Neo satellites are at the cutting edge of Earth Observation technology. Launched in 2021 and fully funded, designed and manufactured by Airbus, Pléiades Neo represents a high level of excellence in high-resolution optical satellite imagery.

With a location accuracy of 3.5m CE90 and 30cm native resolution imagery, the Pléiades Neo constellation delivers stunningly clear, accurate images. The two satellites have an acquisition capacity of 1 million km² per day and mono, stereo, and tri-stereo acquisition capability and can provide daily revisits worldwide.

The high-resolution imagery produced by Pléiades Neo showcases the excellence, quality, and innovation of the Airbus team.
