This image shows a captivating spot of the port of Rotterdam located in the Netherlands, the largest commercial port in Europe. It extends over 50 km and processes nearly 15 tons of goods per second. As a port of entry to Europe, it hosts almost 3,000 ship movements daily, supported by an extensive rail and pipeline network.
Thanks to the Pléiades Neo HD15 image captured, we can see a distinct part of the commercial port, which includes a marina and a cruise port.
The marina is distinguished by its numerous piers and docks accommodating various types of boats. Among these boats, we can see moored yachts and sailboats. The large cruise ships that are docked are particularly gigantic, capable of accommodating several thousand passengers a voyages to northern Europe.
The very high resolution allow us to distinguish the different decks of the boats, including the swimming pools and deckchairs.
The surrounding areas of the port are clearly visible with numerous: car parks, access roads, industrial zones and green spaces are all identifiable. This level of detail provides a comprehensive overview of the port’s infrastructure and its capacity to handle a vast array of maritime activities.
