Dubai Satellite image from Pléiades Neo

Taken by Airbus Pléiades Neo on 06/19/2021, this is a high-quality satellite image of the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Dubai is the capital of the Emirate of Dubai and the most populated of the UAE’s seven emirates. 

A modern miracle of engineering, Dubai has transformed from a small fishing village into a major metropolis. The impressive ambitions of Dubai are exemplified by the Burj Khalifa, at the time of writing the tallest building in the world. The Burj Khalifa is situated in Downtown Dubai at the centre left of the image with the Burj Park and Burj Khalifa Lake visible in front of it. Just above the Burj Khalifa is the Coca-Cola Arena at the top left of the image. 

Panning to the right of the Burj Khalifa is the imposing Dubai Mall and the Dubai Mall Hotel. At the far top right is the Dubai Festival City complex comprising two triangular towers that form the InterContinental and Crowne Plaza hotels. The round silver teardrop-shaped building above them is the Festival City Mall.

Panning downwards we can see the Festival Promenade, Al Badia Golf Club, and various community parks and gardens. Running along the bottom of the image is the Dubai Creek. The Marasi Marina and Marasi Business Bay can also be clearly seen. Zooming in on the image reveals minute details such as vehicles, boats, and housing. The beginning of Jumeriah district lies to the left of the image and the Al Wasl area lies in the middle bottom of the frame. 

With a location accuracy of 3.5m CE90 and 30cm native resolution imagery, the Pléiades Neo constellation delivers stunningly clear, accurate images. The two satellites have an acquisition capacity of 1 million km² per day and mono, stereo, and tri-stereo acquisition capability and can provide daily revisits worldwide.
