The Almeria region in Spain has invested since 1970, in a hyper-productive model to supply 3 million tons of fruits and vegetables, organic included, all year round.

The 30,000 hectares of agricultural greenhouses that have earned the region its nickname of “sea of plastic” benefit from an annual sunshine of more than 3000 hours. Hundreds of trucks leave every day for supermarkets, forming a gigantic food industrial food network throughout Europe.
