On March 28th, 2025, Myanmar, with a population of over 50 million people, was struck by a 7.7 magnitude earthquake. The scale of the destruction has led to significant losses. Roads have been torn apart, buildings and temples collapsed, severely hampering the flow of both local and international aid. Straight after the earthquake, conditions for oversight and coordination remained far from ideal. While the most affected areas were within Myanmar, the impact of the disaster extended beyond its borders. The Airbus satellite constellation started to acquire data straight after the earthquake and provides evidence of the damage on the infrastructures and support emergency response.
