On 7 January 2025 at 9:05 AM Beijing time, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Tingri County in Tibet's Shigatse region. The tremors were felt across the Himalayas, impacting neighboring Nepal, Bhutan and parts of northern India, followed by several aftershocks.
